DLL Umpire Certification Classes for the 2005 Spring Season

Certification classes have been scheduled for the 2005 baseball season. If you attend one of the certification classes and pass the written exam you will be given priory game placement for games and Junior Umpires will recieve an extra $10/game (more on this season's reimbursement scale will come in a separate e-mail).

In order to register for a class you will need to send an e-mail to Jackie Schmetzer at DLLUIC@msn.com and state the classes you are interested in attending in order of preference (1st, 2nd, 3rd choice). Class sizes are limited. If your 1st choice is not available you will be given your next choice and placed on the waiting list for your 1st choice.

Classes will be approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours and will include a manual, class discussion, and a written exam. Once you pass the written exam you will be certified for a period of 1 year.

Classes will require a $30.00 registration fee ($45 if you need a shirt and hat). This fee will be payable upon entry to the class. The $30 registration fee will be reimbursed to you if you complete a minimum of 10 games during the course of the spring season.

Tue, Feb 22: The Thursday, March 3 Umpire Certification Class is full and is taking waitlist registrations only. There is still room in the Saturday March 5 class.

Classes are as follows.

   Class #1:
      When: Wednesday January 26, 2005 (there is no school this day)
      Time: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
      Location: Ashburn Library

   Class #2: [CLASS FULL - contact the UIC to be added to the waitlist]
      When: Thursday March 3, 2005
      Time: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
      Location: Ashburn Library

   Class #3:
      When: Saturday March 5, 2005
      Time: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
      Location: Ashburn Library
