Timeline for the DLL Opening Day Parade and Festival

9:20am -- All players in full uniform/sneakers and TWO coaches per team report to the back soccer field at St. Theresa's on Shellhorn Road.  Volunteers will be along the parade route to direct participants to the parade staging area.  Parents/spectators are NOT permitted to walk in the parade to aid in crowd control.  Upon arrival at the parade staging area, players should look for their coaches who will be grouped by divisions.  Colored balloons will be used to designate the staging areas: Blue (Majors, Middle School, and Juniors), Red (AAA), Green (AA), Yellow (Single A), Orange (Rookie), White (Instructional Rookie), Purple (T-Ball), Pink (Challengers).

10:00am -- DLL teams and players will parade from St. Theresa's to Crittenden Park Field #1 carrying their team banners.  Home-made banners will be eligible for the Team Spirit Banner Contest.  The winning team from each division (T-Ball through Majors) will receive a $150 gift card for use at their end of season party.

10:15am – Opening Day ceremonies at Crittenden Field #1.

10:45am – 1:30pm – DLL Festival featuring games, music, food and fun.  Food and concessions will be available for purchase.  DLL sponsors will also have booths/tables set up.

11:30am – DLL Majors Skills Competition at Crittenden Field #1.  Watch representatives from each DLL Majors team compete in running, throwing and hitting contests.

Parking: People can park on Windmill Drive between Claiborne Parkway and Iron Gate and on the side streets off Windmill Drive.  Volunteers can park in the back parking lot at the Ashburn Farm Visitors Center.  Handicapped drop-off and parking will be available in the upper lot at Crittenden. There is no parking along the parade route (Windmill, Iron Gate or Ice Pond roads).

Opening Day Key Volunteers: Each team is required to provide one parent volunteer to help with Opening Day.  Opening Day volunteers are asked to register via the Volunteers Link on the DLL website.

Once registered, a DLL representative will notify you via email of the specific volunteer duties and reporting times.  All volunteers should report to the area between the Crittenden concession stand and the Crittenden parking lot (marked by Red balloons) at their designated time for further instructions from a DLL Board Member (who will be wearing blue DLL Board of Directors shirts or pullovers).  Email with any questions.
